Donation

My mom set up a paypal account for donations.  I handed out business cards at the lemonade stand and I got a $5.00 donation from a generous customer who we met at the park on Saturday.    Thank you very much!

Twenty Five Dollars!!

On Sunday we went to Circle C Park and set up next to the playground.  We sold lemonade and cookies and got $25.00 to give to the animal shelter.  Because all of the money goes to the animal shelters and the zoo.  We also donated treats to all our doggie customers.  Our good friend came to help us sell.  Thank you to all that bought and donated to our lemonade and cookie stand.

Lemonade Stand

Here we are selling fresh squeezed Lemonade on Friday.  We raised $7.00 in sales and donations.  All money goes directly to helping animals in need.   My brother was singing and drumming up customers.   Today we're headed to a local park.  Check back later for updates.

Just to remind you what we do...
Hi I'm Annie! I'm just a kid. I love animals and I wish to help them at the Austin Zoo and local Austin Animal Shelters. I will gladly take any donations and bring them to the animals. I'm hoping I save a lot of homeless animals. Please post a comment if you have anything a homeless animal will need that you can gladly share and I will make arrangements to pick up from you.  Or please click the Donate Now link at the top of this page.  We accept all forms of payment via paypal.

Here are just some things that are needed:

Food
Blankets
Toys
Beds
Treats
Leashes
Collars
Dishes

Thank you for your support!

Fire and Flame: Book Two

I went to PetSmart for a hampster.  Two little puffy cheeked hamsters.  "Come on let's go.  We'll come back after dinner," said my dad.
"OK," I said
"Let's  go out to dinner," said my mom.
"Yeah!" I said
"You know it's late.  We'll come back tomorrow," said mom
"No, no, I want it tonight," I said smiling at my mom
"No, not tonight," said my mom
"Please"
"Hmmm....only if you get fish"
"OK" I said happily and excitedly
"Mike you go home with him," mom said pointing to my brother, "I'll take her."
"OK" said Dad
Off I went into the store.  I saw two fish I wanted.  Mom said OK.  And so I brought them home.  I named them Fire and Flame.  Fire had a problem with his fin and so did Flame.

I Love Fish!

I love fish because they are easy to take care of.  Especially Bettas.  In fact, I am a Betta breeder.  They lay over 100 eggs.  They start to hatch in 24 hours.  You do not have to change the water if you use distilled water.

Something I want to say

I usually feed my betta fish Omega One Veggie Flakes, natural protein formula, made with fresh kelp and spirulina.

Earth: Book Four

I got my brother a betta fish for his birthday and I got one for myself too. I named her Earth but on Easter I figured out it was a boy so I changed his name to Mythical.  The other fish I got for me died.  But I still have Fairy, Fire, Flame, Taffy and Mythical.
Just so you know Bettas can NOT! be in the same tank.

Taffy: Book Three

"Let's go for a Betta," said Mom
"Yeah" I said
"One only"
"OK"
I walked into PetCo.  A little fish caught my eye, she was blue and so so so cute.  I got her.  Still having the hardest time in the car holding her.  I named her Taffy.   Bettas cost about three dollars.  They're not very expensive and they make great birthday presents.

Fairy: Book One

"Mom, when can I get a Betta?" I said

"Two weeks," said my mom
Finally the day came, there I stood in Petsmart looking.  A little fish in a jar, no color, no home.  After looking her over I decided to keep her.  I was having the hardest time holding her in the car.  I named her Fairy,  my second fish.  I fed and took good care of her for many years.

Bettas live about nine years.  When I got her she was tiny.  Now she is big and baby pink.  I love Fairy.  A Betta is easy to take care of.  All you have to do is feed them and add distilled water when low.  Very very simple.  They are easy to train too.  They sleep in beds.  One night Fairy got very sick.  Floating on the top of the water struggling to eat, I fed her peas and fiber food.  She was better.   I have never fed her TopFin food again.  I learned my lesson.

My Fish

I would like to tell you a story about my fish.  So far I have written four chapters.  I will publish one a day for the next four days.
